The professional weighing problem

Weight is a routine measure. For wheelchair users, collecting it rarely is.

Most weighing workflows assume a patient can stand. When they can't, the workaround falls to your staff — a transfer, a trip to whichever department has the accessible scale, or a reading that quietly doesn't get taken.

01Standard scales assume a patient can stand or transfer safely.
02The one accessible scale is usually in another department, on another floor.
03Transfers take staff, time, and equipment your schedule did not budget for.
04When weighing is hard, the reading is deferred — and the trend disappears.

Professional FAQ

Questions from care teams and procurement.

How do I order Slate?+

Slate is available for pre-order. Submit a pre-order request with your projected quantity and we will confirm your place in the production run and send a quote with delivery timing and installation details. No payment is due until your unit ships.

How is Slate different from Fold?+

Fold is Canary's home product for individual wheelchair users. Slate is the professional product: placed in a facility, built for repeated multi-patient use, sold through quotes and the DME channel, and supported accordingly.

What does Slate cost?+

Slate is quoted rather than listed. Pre-order pricing, organizational quotes, and volume pricing are available — tell us your quantity and timeline and we will send a written quote.

Do you sell through DME providers and distributors?+

Yes. Slate is available on dealer terms with protected margin for durable medical equipment providers, distributors, and rehabilitation suppliers. Contact us for the partner price list and territory discussion.

Does the patient need to transfer out of their wheelchair?+

No. Slate is designed for roll-on use directly from the wheelchair. Chair weight can be stored and subtracted so the displayed reading reflects the patient.

What is the warranty?+

Slate carries a 24-month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Full terms are in our Terms & User Agreement.

Do you accept purchase orders and invoicing?+

Yes. Include your procurement requirements in your quote request and we will work with your purchasing team on POs, invoicing, and net terms.

Is Slate a medical device?+

Slate is positioned as a General Wellness device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and readings are not a substitute for clinical measurement or professional judgment.
